Site Superintendent
Job Description:
- Lange Ag Systems located in Willmar, MN is a general contractor for large and small livestock barns. We are looking for a Site Superintendent that can work with our construction team to deliver high quality projects on-time for our customers. Site Superintendent must manage all phases of construction from excavation to final livestock equipment installation.
Job Tasks:
- Drive timeliness and financial goals by partnering with sub-contractors, engineers, owners at the direction of the Lange Ag Construction Manager.
- Assist sub-contractors with trouble shooting and issue resolution.
- Ensure sub-contractors implement proper safety protocols.
- Identify construction issues and escalate through proper channels.
- Leverage web based software to document daily logs of construction activities.
- Manage completion of punch list items in a timely manner.
- Ensure cleanliness of the job site for appearance and safety.
- Assist with scheduling material and equipment delivery to the site and validate inventory when delivered to the site.
Candidate Requirements:
- Requirements:
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
- A construction background with demonstrated understanding of excavation, framing and mechanical disciplines. Formal education is great, but we also value construction experience and are willing to help train someone new to this role if they have the right intangible skills.
- Willing to partner with other Lange Ag staff and operate as a team.
- Communicate with subs, coworkers, owners, engineers and other stakeholders in the proper medium (verbal, text, web logs, etc.). Bonus if fluent in English and Spanish.
- A desire to solve problems with creative reasoning.
Installation Technician
Job Description: (Full-Time with Benefits)
- Tasks include the installation and repair of livestock equipment, using hand tools, provided power tools, welder and torch (will train), forklift, skid-loader, and tractor. Hours are typically Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays. Must be willing to travel overnight during the week, but will always be home for the weekends (often back in the area by Thursday evening).
- Lange Ag Systems provides full-time installation technicians with uniforms, cold-weather gear, a laundry service for work clothes, and a tool allowance. Overnight lodging provided at company expense when traveling, along with a meal per diem. Lange Ag Systems promotes a culture of respect and reward for our employees, through holiday parties, giveaways, and bonuses for good performance. We pay 100% of the employees medical AND dental insurance, with options provided for family coverage. We offer year-round employment without the uncertainty that comes with a seasonal layoff. Our technicians typically work 40 hours per week in the winter months, with increased hours during the construction season.
- Pay depends on experience. Those with less experience will start at the lower end but will receive raises as they improve their skills and know-how. While not required, bi-lingual candidates who have the right hands-on skills will be given STRONG consideration (English-Spanish).
Candidate Requirements:
- No certification is required. This is a great position for someone with a farm background or other practical experience.
- Must be willing to learn and grow in the year-round construction / installation-focused position and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have solid communication skills – bonus if fluent in English and Spanish.
- We’re looking for a natural leader who is motivated to work toward a foreman position and grow with the company.
- Should be able to coordinate activities with multiple workers.
- This job is physical and requires indoor (shop/ag environment) and outdoor work – quality cold weather gear is provided for winter months.
- Must be a solution-oriented thinker who is good with their hands.
- Should have a relatively clean driving record with no DUIs or license revocations in the last 5 years.
- Inside and outside work, requiring lifting and physical labor – mechanical background is preferred.
- We’re willing to consider those with less than perfect backgrounds if they have the right personality and skill-set.
Swine/Dairy Solutions Specialist
Job Description:
- Assist customers with new or remodel swine/dairy barn project needs. Use creativity to deliver exceptional service, problem solving and develop sales leads.
Job Tasks:
- Proactively develop relationships with current and potential customers about barn project / parts needs through a variety of media, including face-to-face meetings. Some travel required.
- Make contacts with previous, existing and potential customers to determine their needs and solutions available from Lange Ag.
- Design barn layout to meet the needs of the customer.
- Become experienced with providing General Contracted barn project solutions by networking with appropriate people in the industry.
- Use Lange Ag Systems tools to quote barn projects.
- Manage appropriate portions of the barn project, on and off site.
- Partner with Lange Ag employees and vendors to meet the needs of the customer and the greater business activities. Promote products, services and brands that Lange Ag is known to supply.
- Communicate payment arrangements with customers and collect on amounts due.
- Participate in sales meetings and trade shows as needed.
